Over 160 children from the summer course, run jointly by the Falcons, Leeds Tykes and Sale Sharks, were allowed to watch the morning session as the squad was put through its paces, before being coached by the first team stars themselves.
Richard Arnold, former Kingston Park legend and now member of the Falcons Community Foundation team, said: "Getting the whole squad to come down and take an afternoon's coaching is tremendous, and the kids have really benefited a lot from having guys like Matt Burke, Jamie Noon, Jonny Wilkinson and all the players down here."
The week-long residential course at Catterick sees children aged 14-18 receiving top class coaching from the Falcons, Leeds and Sale for the whole week, combined with player visits from all three clubs and an insight in to Army life.
"The boys get up at around 7am, have breakfast and then take part in an Army session, followed by a couple of hours rugby and then lunch," said Arnold.
"The afternoons then see another couple of hours of rugby and some more Army activities, which they seem to enjoy. It includes things like paintballing, confidence courses, camouflage skills and it's gone down really well alongside the rugby work.
"Catterick is an amazing place and there's something in it for everyone. The kids are obviously interested in rugby, and from the Army point of view it gives a bit of a chance to show them what being a soldier is really all about. They get to see it for themselves first hand, and for some of them it could be the start of a career in the forces, while for the others they will still enjoy the activities and benefit from all the exercise.
"It's just a small part of what the Falcons Community Foundation is doing throughout the area, and it's gone down very well with everyone this week."
Falcons skipper Burke said after imparting his wisdom on the youngsters: "Today has been great for the people taking part in the camp, and also for the Falcons boys who have really enjoyed the day.
"The kids certainly seem keen to learn, but they're also having a lot of fun and getting plenty of exercise in the process."
The World Cup winner added: "The facilities at Catterick are superb, and we have to thank the Army for being good enough to let us make use of them throughout this week."
